All of these little leaves are each soldered securely on a small double teeth hair prong base. Beautiful and useful at the same time, to add a touch of extra charm to a messy up-do or a tidy one. You can also do half an updo, or pull your hair to the side and secure it with the prong.
Its used the same way you use a pen or a chop stick to pick up your hair- first of all you twist your hair (or half your hair) into a bun, second- you take the prong, and you start by pushing it from below into the upper corner of the bun. Then, by turning the stick 90 degrees toward the scalp, and by pushing it down into the roots, you get a stable and elegant up-do. The up-do could be made also on the side of the head to achieve a more bohemian look.
